Internship is the building block to one’s career prospects. Gaining on-field knowledge and hands-on experience in a particular field of work is a crucial part of higher academic learning. In this article, we are about to witness the journey of Chinmay Shah. He joined Prinkit.in as an intern and is a now a permanent PRINKSTER!!
Background
Chinmay was born and brought up in Vadodara. He completed his high school education from Mothers’ school in the field of commerce. He then went on to pursue Bachelors in Commerce (Hons.) from M.S University of Baroda. Apart from being sincere as far as academics is concerned, Chinmay also played professional cricket at club level for about 7 years. He has also been associated with youth NGOs in the city because of his moral responsibility towards society. Apart from that, he also worked as a freelancer for production companies.
Start of the journey with Prinkit.in
Chinmay was looking to settle for a full-time job where he could stay away from home for the whole day. After brainstorming and talking with people, he realized that his skills will be better utilized in the digital marketing field. Chinmay was following the progress of Prinkit.in since past 1 year before joining the company. He came to know about the company because of the NGO that Mr. Prinkit Patel started called Change Vadodara Campaign. So, Prinkit.in was the first company that came to his mind when he was searching for a job. In August 2020, he contacted the office and had a talk with the H.R representative regarding job application. He was offered a general internship for 45 days before accepting him as an employee, and that his how his journey at Prinkit.in started.
Experience during the internship
Chinmay believes that a 45 day internship is actually very beneficial, both on the part of the intern as well as the company. This is because during that period, the company can assess his work, train him and nurture him for the role. At the same time, he can also introspect and learn from his experience. Also he can get used to the work environment of the company. When he first joined, he wasn’t sure of the department he wanted to work for. Whether it was graphics, ads or content, he wasn’t so sure. So he took general internship where he was involved in tasks from different departments like H.R, Social media management, content and ads. This gave him an overview of all the departments at a basic level.
About his internship, Chinmay says, ‘ The company helped me grow in a lot of ways. Before joining Prinkit.in, I used to work as a freelancer and thus I did not have corporate experience. When I arrived here, I got used to the company policy of working full-time. I interacted with a lot of new faces and talked about various aspects of work and otherwise. All of them are friendly and are always there to help out. Here, I learned to work with my colleagues, realize my hidden potential and open up myself during the process. So, this internship definitely helped me grow as a person.’ By the end of the internship, he decided to work in the social media department because he knew that his skills would be utilized optimally and he could contribute to company’s growth.

There are a lot of self-initiatives to be taken which boosts the personal spirit. He is really happy to be a part of a family where everyone is treated with mutual respect and there is a sense of belonging.
I want to apply for a internship to learn and get insights about digital marketing. I come from a Biology background and don’t have any experience regarding digital marketing, so I wanted to know will I be a fit for it?
